CROESO I FLWYDDYN 2!

We are so excited to start our Spring Term! We have so many exciting opportunities and activities planned for this term, which I hope will add to the wonderful memories you've built so far at St John Lloyd! We are very lucky to have Mrs Shore, Ms Gough and Mr Hart supporting our learning this year! 

We will be implementing the four purposes of the new curriculum for Wales to inform our teaching.

This will allow all children to be:

• Ambitious, Capable Learners – through exploring characteristics a of a fictional and real-life superheroes. We will explore real-life superheroes and how their work helps us every day.
• Enterprising, Creative Contributors – through exploring cartoonists and illustration throughout history including master such as Walt Disney, and classic comic like Spider-Man and Superman, through to contemporary comic and cartoon heroes.
• Ethical, Informed Citizens – by recognising how behaviour affects other people through exploring comic villains. How are they different to superheroes? What might a comic villain look like? How would they behave?
• Healthy, Confident Individuals – through asking questions we will explore which aspects of school life you’d like a superhero to deal with, for example, road safety.

Our RE topic is ‘Galilee to Jerusalem' and we will be learning about who Jesus is and how he teaches us about the nature of God through parables and miracles. We will explore the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Our virtues this term are asking us to become ‘Loving and Compassionate’. We are growing to be ‘compassionate’ towards others near and far, and ‘loving’ in our just actions and forgiving words.

In addition to this we will develop our ICT skills with a focus this term on staying safe online. We will also continue to develop our Welsh knowledge and our Maths skills will be posted to this page. We will also continue our Rights Respecting Schools Journey learning about our Rights and how they are present all around the world.
