School Improvement & Grant Funding
GRANT FINANCES 2025/26
"The Pupil Deprivation Grant (PDG) is extra funding from the Welsh Government to overcome the additional barriers poorer pupils face that prevent them from reaching their potential. This may include exceptionally able pupils who, because of their family background, are not achieving their full personal potential, even though they appear to be holding their own in comparison with their peer".
The allocation for the financial year 2025-26 for SJL based on the percentage of free school meals is £156,388.
This money will fund early intervention to develop pupils' numeracy and literacy skills and close the gap of progress and attainment.
SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN (including previous year self evaluation)
We have recently reviewed our School Improvement Plan (SIP) in order to ensure continued & sustained improvement at St John Lloyd RC Primary School. The new SIP, which is officially launched every September is a working document that is reviewed by all staff throughout the year. This plan builds on previous progress and ways forward that are identified through a strong self-evaluation process at the school.
