Welcome to Year 3/4!

Welcome to Autumn 2 in Year 3/4 St Winifred!

We are very excited to welcome you back for what promises to be a busy and exciting term!

This term, we will be exploring our new topic, Creative Crafters. We will investigate how and why sports clothing and equipment are designed in different ways for different sports. We will test a range of materials to discover which are best for trainer soles and sports kits. Using everything we learn, we will then design and create our very own sports t-shirt.

In Literacy, we will be developing our poetry skills and learning how to create effective advertisements. Our class text will be The Journey, a beautiful picture book about a young girl who draws a magical door on her bedroom wall. Through this door, she escapes into a world full of adventure, wonder, and challenges, inspiring us to create our own exciting pieces of writing.

Our RE topic this term is Prophecy and Promise. As we journey through Advent, we will prepare for the celebration of Jesus' birth and deepen our understanding of the Mass. Our virtues are Eloquent and Truthful, and we will practise speaking honestly and thoughtfully as we learn more about Jesus through the Gospels.

Homework

Please remember to keep up to date with your MyMaths homework, which is posted online every Wednesday. This helps to reinforce the learning taking place in class.

You should also read one Bug Club book each week and complete the accompanying activities. Learn your weekly spelling words, which will be sent home on Fridays.

PE

Our PE lessons will continue to take place on Fridays, so please ensure that PE kits are in school each week.
