Croeso i Reception/Year 1 Rhian!

Welcome to our Reception/Year 1 Class page. We are delighted to share the learning experiences, achievements, and important moments this year.

Our topics this term include:

Delicious

• We are looking forward to exploring the theme of delicious foods this term. The children will be designing, labelling, and creating their very own pizzas as part of our learning. We will also be finding out about Chinese New Year and using what we learn to write our own menus.

Long, Long Ago

• During our Long, Long Ago topic, we will be learning all about castles and mythical creatures. The children will explore the roles of the different people who lived and worked in a castle and will have opportunities to take on these roles through imaginative play. As part of our creative learning, we will also design and make our own models of mythical creatures.

RE

• Our topic this term is “Galilee to Jerusalem “ We will explore how to share God’s love through bible stories such as the Feeding of the 5000 and Jesus Welcomes the Little Children.

Homework

• Seesaw: You can access Seesaw at home for weekly homework activities that support your child’s learning in class. You’ll also find photos and updates about what your child has been learning.
• Year 1 Only – You can access BugClub and MyMaths at home to support your child’s reading and maths learning. These activities reinforce the skills they have been developing in class.

Healthy Schools: A gentle reminder that we are a healthy school. Children should bring a healthy snack each day, except for Friday, which is our treat day.

Jumpers and Cardigans: Please ensure all clothing items are clearly labelled so they can be returned safely if misplaced.
