Our Autumn Topic: Marvellous Me

This term, we will be exploring all things family. We will be learning about our immediate families, who lives in our homes, our school family, and our Church family. As part of our topic work, the children will create self-portraits which will be displayed in our classroom.

We will be developing our early maths and language skills through counting games, stories, and favourite number rhymes such as Five Little Ducks and Five Little Speckled Frogs.

 

                                      

The children will also be strengthening their fine motor skills through mark-making, drawing, painting, and exploring a variety of creative activities. We will begin recognising our own names and developing the pencil control needed for early writing.

A key focus this term will be settling into Nursery routines, learning how to explore our environment safely, and discovering that learning can be lots of fun!

Religious Education: Creation and Covenant

In RE this term, we will be learning about:

• The Creation Story
• Baptism
• How we are all created in God's love
• How we belong to God's loving family

Through stories, discussions, and activities, the children will begin to understand God's love and care for all people.

PE Our PE day is Friday.

Please ensure your child comes to Nursery wearing suitable clothing, such as joggers, leggings, shorts, trainers, and a comfortable top, as they will be taking part in physical activities both indoors and outdoors.

We love sharing your child's learning journey with you! Throughout the year, we will post photos, observations, and examples of your child's achievements on Seesaw.

Preparing for the Weather

As the weather begins to change, please send your child to Nursery with a suitable coat that they can practise putting on independently. Encouraging children to manage their own coats is a wonderful way to build confidence and independence.

Please Label Clothing

To help us reunite lost items quickly, please ensure that all jumpers, cardigans, coats, and other belongings are clearly labelled with your child's name.

Healthy Habits

We are proud to be a healthy school and encourage healthy eating habits.

Please provide your child with:

• A healthy snack each day
• A bottle of water

Milk is also provided by the school to help support healthy growth and strong teeth and bones.

Friday Treats

As a special end-of-week treat, children may bring a small treat on Fridays instead of their usual healthy snack.
