ATTENDANCE - WHAT IS THE SCHOOL’S TARGET FOR ATTENDANCE?
Attendance and punctuality are a priority of the school and the Local Authority. The Local Authority’s target for attendance is 95%.
Our aim for all pupils is to provide a high-quality education in a safe and caring environment to enable everyone to excel. Our pupils enjoy coming to school and like to be on time.
Our expectation is that all pupils will come to school on time every day. This means to be in school before 8:50am. ALL late pupils are recorded on our electronic register and regular lateness will be passed onto the school's Education Welfare Officer after a notification letter and a meeting with Mr Ivins/ Mrs Hart.
Leave of absence during term time will be discouraged. Parents and carers do not have the automatic right to withdraw their children from school for an annual holiday and will be reminded of the effect that absence can have on a pupil’s potential achievement. The school will not authorise any holidays if pupils' average attendance is below 95%.
