Welcome back everyone and I hope you have all had a well earned rest during half term and are ready for an exciting term which is jam packed with exciting learning opportunities.
Our topic this term is called 'Remember, Remember' and it focuses on events that happened in history. We will be learning all about 'The Gunpowder Plot' and 'The |Great Fire of London'. As both of these events involved big fires,we will be visiting the local fire station to learn about the job they do.
There are some creative days planned for this term and the children will be studying the works of the French Impressionist 'Turner' and his paintings of' 'The Burning of the Houses of |Parliament'. We will also be making models of Pudding Lane from The Great Fire of London so we would appreciate any donations of cereal boxes, tea bag boxes etc... to make our models.
We must not forget about Christmas!!! Our play this year is called 'The Christmas Tree Nativity' and you can find all the songs on line at www.easypeasyplays.co.uk . Perhaps you could help your child to learn the songs they need to sing. We will be auditioning very soon for the parts.
Finally our R.E. topic this term i 'Signs and Symbols' which is all about the ceremony of Baptism. If you have any photos of your child's Baptism we would appreciate it if they could be sent in to school for display. We will return them safely to you after the topic.
