Welcome to Year 1/2 class page
Here you will find helpful information about our class and our learning activities in year 1/2.
We hope you had a lovely summer and we are looking forward to having an exciting year with you all. We have enjoyed getting to know you all and welcoming new children to the school and our class.
We have some interesting topics and exciting activities planned this year to support our learning.
Our topic this term is 'Happiness' and we will be finding out what makes us happy and interviewing other children to find out what makes others happy. We will be visiting the local park to play some games and have lots of fun! We will also be learning about the importance of healthy eating and exercise. We will be making healthy snacks and keeping an exercise diary.
Our first RE topic is called 'Beginnings' and we will be thinking of things that we are beginning in our lives and how this makes us feel. We will also be listening to the story of Creation and talking about the things that God made. We will be using our creative skills to make a collage of the story.
We will also be trying our best to follow our school virtues this term to be generous and grateful.
Please can you provide your child with a PE kit in a bag clearly labelled with their name. We can keep the PE kit in school but will send it home at the end of each half term for it to be washed.
Maths homework will be sent home on a Friday and is linked to the work the children have been doing in class that week. Please can you return this homework by the following Friday.
A new bug club reading book will be released online every Monday. Please support your child to read this book as many times as you can through the week.
Thank you for your support
