CROESO I FLWYDDYN 1&2!

Croeso i flwyddyn 1 and 2 this Spring Term! We have lots of wonderful and fun activities planned for this term that we are very excited to begin. This year we are very lucky to have Mrs Lewis to support the children's learning.

We will be implementing the four purposes of the new curriculum for Wales to inform our teaching.

This will allow all children to be:

• Ambitious, Capable Learners – through exploring the features of traditional fairy tales such as The Three Little Pigs and exploring the characteristics of different fairy tale characters such as The BIG BAD Wolf.
• Enterprising, Creative Contributors – through exploring how hand-puppets are made and creating our own hand-puppets to retell the story of the story of The Three Little Pigs to creating our own pop-up invitations to invite our friends to our own ‘Fairy Tale Ball!.’
• Ethical, Informed Citizens - by recognising how behaviour affects other people through exploring different characters in fairy tales. How are different characters different? How would they behave?
• Healthy, Confident Individuals – through asking questions we will explore how to create healthy and treat snacks for our ‘Fairy Tale Ball,’ a fruit punch & a gingerbread man.

Our RE topic is ‘Galilee to Jerusalem' and we will be learning about who Jesus is and how he teaches us about the nature of God through parables and miracles.

Our virtues this term are asking us to become ‘Grateful and Generous’. We are growing to be ‘grateful’ towards others near and far, and ‘generous’ in our just actions and forgiving words. 

In addition to this we will develop our ICT skills with a focus this term on staying safe online. We will also continue to develop our Welsh knowledge and our Maths skills will be posted to this page. We will also continue our Rights Respecting Schools Journey learning about our Rights and how they are present all around the world.

Important Information

It is very important to complete your homework as this will reinforce the learning that happens in class. 

Bug Club will be set for your child to read the book of the coloured band they are reading in class.

Thursday will be our PE day, so please can each pupil have a labelled PE bag with appropriate kit in.

Every Thursday there will be a homework task on Seesaw for your child to complete.
