Spring 1 Scrumptious
Welcome back after the Christmas break! In our new topic we are looking at all things tasty, new stories and Chinese new year! We will be making our own bread, our own pizzas, and tasting little bits of Chinese snacks.
We will be having a fish and chip shop in our outside area and a Chinese takeaway in our role play. This will help us to explore money, weight and measures and taking away different amount of money.
In RE we will be looking at our parish family and looking at being apart of St John Lloyd church. We will explore different celebrations that we have experiences and ones that we have not. We will discuss why people gather together and where they gather. We will explore different bible stories through song, dance and creative tasks.
In science we are being extra clever and looking at different forces, chemical reactions to solids and liquids and being IT wizards with our bee-bots and remote control cars.
Look out for dates for our pop up pizza day where you will be invited to come and make your own pizza with your child, yum yum!
Autumn 2 - Glow and Glitter
Such an exciting ahead!! we will be exploring all things 'Glow and Glitter' and preparing for Christmas.
We will be exploring and learning all about Firework safety and using lots of different materials e.g. paint, glitter etc to create our own firework pictures.
We will have two creative days on November the 14th and 15th where we will be making, baking and creating lots of different things around the story of Hansel and Gretel.
We will be practising for our Christmas show 'Late for the a Christmas date' and I'm sure you will be treated to lots of singing and dancing at home too. All costumes to come into school by Monday November 24th ready for our dress rehearsal. -
We are looking forward to our first trip - to Pantomime at the Gate theatre - letter to follow.
We will all be visiting our friends at the Woodcroft care home on Monday 16th December for singing and Christmas fun. We will also be making an upcycled Christmas tree for the residents to enjoy during November ready for December.
We will be busy crafting gifts for the Christmas fair and making some lovely surprises to put on the tree!
Please continue to support your child's learning at home by completing the homework in the books given out at Parent Evening and look out for a date to come into school for a Christmas themed parental engagement.

Welcome back everybody after a lovely summer break!
This term our topics are Myself where we will be finding out about our families, homes and our bodies After half term our topic will be Glow and Glitter where we will be exploring our fairy tales and all that sparkles! We will also begin our phonics programme - which will take place each morning and we will be reading daily in our reading groups. In maths this term we will be looking at number, shape and pattern and using our measuring skills to compare things that are long and short.We will be taking part in a daily CLIC mental maths session and will come home singing lots of number songs and rhymes inspired by Pie Corbett..
Our new RE topic is Myself. We will be busy taking photos on the Ipad, practising our names and making music. We know that we are all special and God loves everyone of us.
We are trying to follow our special school virtues , this half term we are generous and grateful.
Homework books will be sent home on a Friday to be completed and returned on a Monday.
