Welcome to our new starters joining our wonderful nursery this term! Our new friends join us in the afternoon nursery and the children were very eager for some new friends! Our topic Pitter Patter Puddle Play encourages the children to like the rain and explore all this wet and splashy! We will be exploring water with floating and sinking, finding puddles and measuring them with our feet, exploring capacity by filling bottles in our water trays and at the end of term a boat race with boats we have made out of junk!
We will be reading many stories this term and using our interactive reading mat with our teacher. Mrs Wishy Washy, Rainbow fish and Noah’s Ark will be our focus stories so we can join in!
Math’s we are counting forwards and backwards to 20, learning out to count out, touch count and recognise all our numbers in the magic math’s areas. We will be learning one more and one less, recognising coins and using money in our new role-play Mrs Wishy Washy’s shop!
RE topic help us learn when to take it in turns to talk in groups, how important being kind and loving to our friends and help us see how important school and parish life is! We start this term on Celebration, look at a touch of Islam and finish with Gathering. We have acted out so far the story of the Presentation of Jesus and what a celebration means to us!
After half term we will be looking at dinosaurs and the unit will be transformed! Our role play will be a museum of all this precious, bones and fossils. We will be explorers in the wild muddy kitchen digging up bones and artefacts of a time way before us!
Stay tuned and keep up to date with the Early Years unit on twitter to see what the clever children are doing on a daily basis!

NURSERY CHILDREN CLASS PAGE
A warm welcome to all our nursery children - those returning after the summer break and all our new starters.
We are joining our Reception friends in a new, bright and exciting Early Years Unit. We will be based in the Cocoon but also spending lots of time in our Learning Garden. We will be cooking up a muddy feast in the mud kitchen, reading on the waves on our Jolly Reader ship and exploring sand, water and messy play.
This term we are learning all about ourselves - finding our name, naming body parts and talking about where we live. In the home corner we have been laying the table, counting out plates and even making jam sandwiches.
We have been learning lots of new songs and rhymes and listening to lots of stories.
We have already begun our RE topic - Myself and learning that we are special to God and that God knows each one of us by name.
This page will be updated throughout the year but please keep an eye on the Provision page where photos of all our wonderful learning will be updated every week.
Thank you for you continued support
