Another busy and exciting term ahead in the Early Years unit! Our first topic is Pitter Patter Puddle Play so for once we are looking forward to rainy days! We will be exploring water with floating and sinking investigations, measuring puddles, and exploring capacity as well as water safety and making boats for our end of term boat race! Our stories this first half term include the Rainbow Fish , Mrs Wishy Washy and Noahs Ark.We are becoming super storytellers and love to visit our Pie Corbett story corner.
In Maths we are beginning to add and subtract ,pay for items in Mrs Wishy Washy shop and count in tens - we are magic at our maths. RE topics help us see how important school and parish life is and how we celebrate in church with our friends and family.We have acted out the Presentation story and will be visiting our church.
After half term the dinosaurs come to Reception .We will be going back in time to explore long ago and will be setting up a class museum with our own fossils and dinosaur bones!
Come and help us on an archaeological dig in the sand to unearth some treasures- what will we find I wonder!
We will be designing treasure maps, writing posters and telling scary dinosaur stories,We will be measuring length , and height, using directions and exploring 3d shape.

Early years team
Welcome back everybody after a lovely summer break!
We already being busy bees in our new hive and enjoying outdoor learning in our garden and exploring, investigating and developing our learning in our cocoon.
This term our topics are Myself and after half term Muck, mess and mixtures where we will visit Wizzy wizard and help him make potions in his castle. We will be learning all about our families, our homes and our body. We will also begin our phonics programme - which will take place each morning and we will be reading daily in our reading groups. In maths this term we will be looking at number, shape, pattern and measuring. We will be taking part in a daily CLIC mental maths session and will come home singing lots of number songs and rhymes inspired by Pie Corbett..
We have already begun our RE topic - Myself. We've been busy taking photos on the Ipad, practising our name and making music. We know that we are all special and God loves everyone of us.
We are trying to follow our special school virtues , this half term we are loving and compassionate to our classmates
Homework books will be sent home on a Friday to be completed and returned on a Monday.
