RECEPTION CHILDREN CLASS PAGE

Welcome back everybody after a lovely summer break!blush


We already being busy bees in our new hive and enjoying outdoor learning in our garden and exploring, investigating and developing our learning in our cocoon.

This term our topics are Myself and after half term Glow and Glitter. We will be learning all about our families, our homes and our body. We will also begin our phonics programme - which will take place each morning and we will be reading daily in our reading groups. In maths this term we will be looking at number, shape, pattern and measuring. We will be taking part in a daily CLIC mental maths session and will come home singing lots of number songs and rhymes.

We have already begun our RE topic - Myself. We've been busy taking photos on the Ipad, practising our name and making music. We know that we are all special and God loves everyone of us.

Look out for our photo in the Echo - and see our happy faces in our new school uniform!

Homework books will be sent home on a Friday to be completed and returned on a Monday.
Your child will be given a specific reading day - on which their words/books must be returned to school.

This term are topics are Scrumptious and Dragon Tales. We will be finding out  all about different foods and where they come from and opening up our own pizza café, yum,yum. We will learn about  healthy food and how things change when they are heated and cooled.We are also planning  a trip to  a Supermarket  so look out for that! In maths we are weighing ,counting and adding as well as writing menus and designing plate mats. Our Chinese take away will see in the Chinese new year with dragon dancing and lots of colourful artwork.
